RedTalks Birmingham: Conversations for a Flourishing City

RedTalks is not a lecture series; it is a continual conversation in the heart of our city. Born from the educational philosophy of Red Mountain Community School (RMCS), RedTalks brings together the voices that shape Birmingham—past, present, and future.

Starting in 2016, this (almost) annual event moves away from the traditional "presentation" format. Instead, RMCS hosts intimate conversations with national figures, local leaders, and dynamic individuals connected with the school who offer their wisdom and experience to the school community and beyond. Together, we explore what it means to be a "full participant in all of life."

Taking place across the vibrant Avondale neighborhood, from the historic Avondale United Methodist Church to the open air of the Amphitheater, RedTalks is designed to be humane and unhurried. We gather to hear stories of vocation, honor, and lifelong learning, inviting every guest to see themselves as an integral part of this particular whole..
